Seller Verification Policy
E-12/2, Sector 1, Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh - 201301, India
This Seller Verification Policy explains how BulkVyapar reviews seller information before a marketplace listing is activated and what a verification indicator does and does not mean.
BulkVyapar currently performs a limited manual GST-based business verification process. A seller listing is not made live solely because onboarding or payment has been completed.
Verification is a platform review signal designed to improve listing quality and reduce obvious inconsistencies. It is not a physical inspection, financial audit, product certification or guarantee of future conduct.
BulkVyapar manually checks GST status and submitted business identity before listing activation; it does not ordinarily visit the seller's premises or certify products, finances or future conduct.
1. Purpose of Seller Verification
BulkVyapar uses seller verification to review specified business information before a seller listing is approved for marketplace publication.
The process is intended to reduce obvious mismatches, inactive GST registrations and misleading identity information, while making clear that BulkVyapar is not performing a full legal, financial or operational audit of the seller.
2. When Verification Takes Place
After the seller completes the applicable onboarding steps and payment, the listing may remain in a pending or review status.
Payment does not automatically make the seller listing live.
BulkVyapar reviews the submitted GST and business information before marketplace activation where GST verification is required for the listing.
3. Information Reviewed
Depending on the seller and the information submitted, BulkVyapar may review the seller's GSTIN and related business details, including the submitted business/legal or trade name and other information reasonably needed to compare the seller's onboarding data with available GST information.
- GSTIN submitted by the seller.
- Whether the GST registration appears active at the time of review.
- Business/legal or trade-name information available through the relevant GST search result.
- Whether the submitted company/business name reasonably corresponds with the GST-related information.
- Other submitted seller details where needed to resolve an obvious inconsistency.
4. Government GST Search Review
BulkVyapar currently performs the GST check manually using the relevant Government GST search facility or another appropriate official/public source available for GST verification.
The purpose of this check is to confirm that the submitted GSTIN appears valid and active and that the business identity reasonably corresponds with the information provided during onboarding.
BulkVyapar does not claim to control or guarantee the continuing accuracy or availability of a government or third-party source.
5. Name and Business Detail Matching
BulkVyapar compares the seller-entered business/company details with the GST-related business/legal or trade-name information available during review.
The comparison is intended to identify material inconsistencies rather than minor formatting differences, abbreviations or ordinary variations that do not reasonably change the business identity.
Where the information cannot reasonably be matched, the listing may remain pending until corrected or clarified.
6. Active GST Status
Where GST verification is part of the applicable seller-review process, BulkVyapar generally expects the submitted GST registration to appear active at the time of review.
If the GST status appears inactive, cancelled, invalid or otherwise inconsistent with the submitted listing information, BulkVyapar may decline activation or request updated information.
7. What Happens if GST Information Does Not Match
If the submitted GSTIN is invalid, inactive, cannot reasonably be matched with the seller-entered business details or requires clarification, BulkVyapar may keep the listing in pending review status.
BulkVyapar may contact or notify the seller and request a valid GSTIN, corrected business name or other updated information necessary to complete the review.
The listing is not ordinarily made live until the verification issue is reasonably resolved.
8. No Physical Address or Premises Visit
BulkVyapar does not ordinarily conduct a physical visit to the seller's registered address, office, shop, warehouse, factory or manufacturing facility as part of the standard GST verification process.
An address appearing in GST-related information is not treated as physically inspected merely because it was visible in an official or public record.
9. No Factory, Stock or Machinery Inspection
BulkVyapar does not, merely through seller GST verification, inspect the seller's factory, machinery, warehouse, inventory, production line, workforce or manufacturing capacity.
A verified status should therefore not be interpreted as confirmation that BulkVyapar has physically inspected or certified the seller's operational capacity.
10. No Financial Audit or Credit Verification
BulkVyapar does not ordinarily conduct a financial audit, bank verification, solvency review, credit-rating assessment or detailed balance-sheet examination as part of the standard GST verification process.
Verification does not mean the seller is financially guaranteed or able to perform every future transaction.
11. No Product Quality Certification
BulkVyapar does not certify the quality, safety, authenticity, performance or suitability of every product merely because the seller has passed GST verification.
Buyers should independently inspect samples, specifications, licences, certifications, test reports and commercial documentation relevant to their intended purchase.
12. No Guarantee of Licences or Regulatory Compliance
A GST verification status does not mean BulkVyapar has verified every licence, permit, registration, statutory certificate or regulatory requirement applicable to the seller or every product category.
Sellers remain responsible for complying with laws and obtaining approvals applicable to their own business and products.
13. Meaning of Verified Business
A Verified Business, GST-verified or similar indicator means only that specified seller information was reviewed under BulkVyapar's applicable verification process at or around the relevant time.
The indicator should be understood as a limited platform verification signal and not as an endorsement, insurance product, government certification or guarantee of the seller's future conduct.
14. What Verified Business Does Not Guarantee
- Product quality or fitness for a buyer's purpose.
- Manufacturing or supply capacity.
- Financial solvency or creditworthiness.
- Delivery performance or delivery time.
- Payment performance in any transaction.
- Authenticity of every product or every claim.
- Ownership of every asset, factory, machine or warehouse.
- Compliance with every licence or law applicable to the seller.
- Absence of future fraud, misconduct or commercial dispute.
- Success of any transaction, inquiry, sale or business relationship.
15. Seller Responsibility for Accuracy
The seller remains responsible for providing accurate, current and lawful information during onboarding and after activation.
A seller must not submit another business's GSTIN, impersonate another entity or knowingly provide misleading verification information.
If information changes after verification, the seller should update BulkVyapar promptly.
16. Ongoing Verification and Re-Check
BulkVyapar may re-check a seller's verification information where reasonably necessary, including after a complaint, material profile change, GST-status concern or other inconsistency.
A previously verified status may be suspended, removed or returned to pending review if the information can no longer be reasonably confirmed.
17. Verification Status May Change
GST registrations and business information may change after the original review.
BulkVyapar does not guarantee that a verification result remains permanently accurate. Verification status may be updated when new information becomes available.
18. Buyer Due Diligence Still Required
Buyers must independently evaluate sellers before placing orders, transferring funds or entering into material commercial arrangements.
Depending on the transaction, a buyer may wish to verify GST details, bank details, samples, licences, purchase terms, references, invoices and other commercial information directly.
BulkVyapar verification is not a substitute for transaction-specific due diligence.
19. Buyer Verification Is Separate
BulkVyapar does not presently require ordinary buyers to submit identity documents merely to send a marketplace inquiry.
A seller should not interpret a buyer inquiry as a verified purchase order, guaranteed buyer, approved credit customer or confirmed payment commitment.
20. Complaints About a Verified Seller
A user may report concerns about a verified seller through BulkVyapar's grievance channel.
BulkVyapar may review the complaint, re-check relevant verification information, request clarification from the seller or temporarily restrict the listing while the issue is investigated.
A complaint does not automatically establish wrongdoing, but serious inconsistencies may result in suspension or removal of verification status.
21. Fraud, Misrepresentation and Impersonation
BulkVyapar may suspend or remove a seller account or verification status where there is credible evidence of impersonation, fraudulent GST use, materially false business information or another serious policy violation.
BulkVyapar may preserve relevant platform records and cooperate with lawful requests from competent authorities where required.
22. Verification and Marketplace Liability
BulkVyapar's limited verification process is intended to improve marketplace quality but does not make BulkVyapar a party to independent buyer-seller transactions.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BulkVyapar is not responsible merely because a verified seller later fails to pay, deliver, perform or comply with an independent commercial agreement.
Nothing in this Policy excludes responsibility that applicable law does not permit BulkVyapar to exclude.
23. Changes to Verification Process
BulkVyapar may improve or modify its verification process over time, including by adding automated checks, additional information requirements or re-verification steps.
Any such change does not mean that an earlier verification involved steps that were not actually performed at that time.
24. Reporting Verification Concerns
Verification concerns, suspected GST misuse, impersonation or misleading seller information may be reported to grievance@bulkvyapar.in.
